It’s time to dust off your sparkly dresses and glam-up your beauty routine!
Although it would be nice to have 30 minutes to spend on festive holiday makeup, when you’re going straight from the office to a party, it’s usually more like five. So, help you get in the festive spirit, we have rounded up our favourite 5 party-perfect makeup looks that will have you bright, shiny, and sultry in almost no time.
A classic, “stop-sign-red” lip commands immediate attention, and we love that! To soften the look, use a cotton bud and run it along the edges of the lipstick. The power of a red lip is absolutely amazing, it automatically gives you a younger, fresher look. Dior Rouge Dior in Rouge Cannage has a creamy finish that lasts through cocktails.
Add a festive pop of color by drawing a rich jewel tone on the lower waterline (we’re talking gold, emerald, turquoise….)the possibilities are endless. We love Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil because it comes in a huge range of pinks, blues, greens, and purples, and it doesn’t budge. Jane Iredale’s Mystikol (Powdered Eyeliner/ Highlighter) are also one to look out for, they are so richly pigmented and vibrant, that well, you simply won’t believe it! Sweep the upper and lower lashes with a lengthening mascara, such as Kevyn Aucoin The Essential Mascara, before filling the waterline and your eyes will sparkle without a hint of glitter.
This flushed, rosy, healthy face is so simple, you could do it in the backseat of a taxi, one-handed, and without a mirror. Simply dab a creamy blush or stain (we love Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll Kiss & Blush in Rose Frivole) in the centers of your cheeks, then blend it out and down for the most natural-looking color.
Finish by blotting some over your lips with your fingers to complete the rosy sheen and you’re out the door in less time than it takes to do one cat eye!
If you’ve just spent eight-plus hours staring at a computer screen, your skin is probably , well, looking a little tired shall we say! The quickest way to perk it up is with highlighter (Chantecaille Liquid Highlighter in Luster) is the favourite!
Blend a tiny drop in a C shape around each eye for a lit from within like glow, a little down the center of the nose and around the top lip line.
Smoky Gunmetal Eyes
We realise that smoky eyes are hard enough to create with a dozen products, endless time, and lots of cotton swabs. However, this is not what you are expecting, this is the “cheats” smoky eye, because the beauty of this is the sexy girl imperfection!
All you need is smudgeable, nonwaterproof eyeliner (try Christian Dior Diorshow Khol Stick – Smoky Black) and a volumizing mascara (we like Chanel Le Volume De Chanel Mascara).
Starting at the inner corner, trace the pencil into the crease, along the bottom lash line, then smear with your finger until there’s a grey halo around the eye.
To finish, retrace the waterline and lash line, swipe on mascara— and please….use tons because it will add dimension to the center of the eyes.
‘Tis the season’ to have fun with your makeup!
